Empowering Through Education

The Educare Fund is a UK registered charity that pays school fees for bright, motivated young women in Lesotho. We believe every girl deserves the chance to complete her education.

Liphethiso Monica Harris

Monica Harris grew up in Lesotho and experienced first-hand how poverty could cut short a girl's education. In 1997, she began sponsoring her first student, determined to give one girl the future she deserved. Word spread, donations followed, and the Educare Fund was born.

Over the past 29 years, Monica has maintained close, personal relationships with every girl the fund supports. She visits schools in Lesotho, meets with families, and makes sure every pound donated reaches the girls directly.

Her commitment to keeping administration costs below 1% is a point of personal pride. The Educare Fund is run entirely by volunteers, and Monica oversees the programme in Lesotho herself.
